780km -485 miles (2days/1night) Departure Marrakech

I

f you absolutely want to taste the incredible atmosphere of the desert but you have little time and just not enough budget for a helicopter then this express tour is for you.

If you want to drive yourself, know that this road is for experienced drivers and a 4x4 vehicle is recommended here.

As we have only 2 days, it is quite important, that you try to follow the roadbook as planned.

We leave Marrakech at 7 a.m. to get ahead of the hustle and bustle of the day and always keep an eye out for the many trucks that use this road as it is the only one going south from Marrakech. After leaving the red-city we take the road to Ouarzazate. After about 40 km ( 25 miles) and just past Ait Ourir, the ascent of the Tic

hka begins.

It is a beautiful panoramic col of which the road is not always in the state you can expect, in particular after the winter. (in the winter months the pass can be closed due to weather conditions).

After overcoming the various hairpin bends and the 2300 m (1.4 miles) high Tichka, you will reach the city of Ouarzazate.

In this express tour, we don't have the time to visit Ouarzazate in detail, but a lunch stop has been cancelled for the 2oo km (124miles).

We follow the road to our final destination via a mountain road and cross the DRAA valley Ksours and kasbahs. After having enjoyed the last 160 km (99.4 miles) of the beautiful panoramic road we arrive in Zagora for our Bivouac in the desert.

The 2nd day after breakfast you can visit a typical village of potters on a 2O km (12.4 miles) from Zagora, Tamag route before you start the way back to Marrakech.

Some remarks.

Perfect season; spring

Plan carefully.

Look for a Bivouac a little further out in the desert.

Try to arrive before sunset in your Bivouac.

There are various activities possible in the desert such as , Quadtour , Cameltour , Sunset
