A landmark from Marrakech.
Built-in 1923 and completely restored in 2008 under the direction of the architect Youssef Melehi, who demonstrated his passion and familiarity with the specific architecture of railway stations with the ones of Tangier and Assilah. The railway station of Marrakech offers you a perfect connection to Casablanca, Rabat or Tangier or Fez via one of the six tracks available.
Located at the intersection of Avenue Mohamed VI and Avenue Hassan II, Marrakech railway station has become a landmark of the city. The culture, history and soul of the city can be found everywhere in the architecture.
Marrakech station is one of the mayor Moroccan railway stations. On a weekday, the station buzzes with daily passengers, who account for a total of 3 million passengers a year. Today, the train station seems missing the traditional hustle and bustle. The consequences of covid leave their traces here as well in several abandoned shops. Only unpaid bills lying around suggest better times, just like the automatic escalators staring motionlessly into a better future.

But even without all the usual hustle and bustle, you can't help but be impressed by the 1250 m2 hall, which seems to contain several dimensions due to the planned incidence of light. When you return from your trip, you will also have a direct view of the 5,000 m2 esplanade with various fountains that serve as a venue for several events throughout the year. What also stands out here is the beautiful visual interaction with "le théatre royal" that is situated just opposite the train station.
The commercial spaces are dominated by KFC and Mc Donalds, with beautiful terraces on the first floor. (Starbucks will open shortly), you'll also find the traditional magazine shop with everything that goes with it, as representatives of the major telephone companies and banking services to smaller local food stores.

On the outside, you'll find a spacious car park and an ever-present fleet of taxis.
All this makes Marrakech station suitable not only for travellers but also for people who want to stop by for a cup of coffee or a small errand and look forward to the atmosphere of this successful architectural construction.
