There are places that leave you flabbergasted from the moment you set foot inside. Let’s call it the mystical seventh sense that hits you at a specific time.

Let me talk about Royal Mansour Casablanca, my new favorite.

From the very first moment, it leaves you in awe – the architecture, the design, the way everything feels just right, even when you’re still taking it all in. Maybe it’s an age thing, or my love for Art Deco, but why search for a reason to feel good?

After eight long years, Royal Mansour Casablanca finally reopened its doors nearly one year ago in April 2024, right in the heart of Casablanca’s Art Deco district of Sidi Belyout, giving an extra glamorous touch to the hospitality sector of Morocco’s financial capital.

Travelling in Time

The first time Royal Mansour Casablanca made waves was when it opened in 1951 as Casablanca’s very first five-star hotel, symbolizing the city’s rise into modernity and the optimistic feel that was conquering the world. Fast forward to today, and it continues to carry that legacy. The past meets the future here, blending the hotel’s glorious history with all the luxuries we expect today, and with the quality and attention to detail we already know from Royal Mansour Marrakech.

The hotel’s restoration preserves the essence of its original style—clean lines, open spaces, and a sense of grandeur you can’t help but feel. Casablanca, known for its modernist architecture, has always embraced forward-thinking designs. And this hotel? It stands as a perfect example of that forward momentum, while respecting and honoring its roots. And I, for one, am grateful for it.

When the doors open and you step into Royal Mansour Casablanca, you can’t help but be struck by the sheer beauty of it all. Majestic spaces, the lobby with the elevators and the fifties-correct rotary floor indicator (I love it!), open-air patios overflowing with greenery, and an imposing staircase that invites you into the world of luxury waiting for you.

Do not miss out on the panoramic double elevator, filling your mind with expectation while whisking you up to the restaurants on the 23rd floor, with a 1M Bitcoin view that leaves you speechless—overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the colorful neighborhoods of the city.

What About the Rooms?

Inside, you’ll find 93 rooms, 39 suites, and 13 private apartments—each one exuding luxury in its simplest form. The design is minimalist, airy, and calming, and a gift of my age is that I am allowed some déjà vus from my past that give me freezles and the need for a place to relax.

The Spa, spanning over 2,500 square meters, is two floors of pure relaxation with a marble leitmotif. Yes, the Royal Mansour Casablanca knows how to do prestige and gives you the vibe of Grand Hotels of the world.

If you know Morocco, you know that one of its biggest draws is the food. Every corner hides a gastronomic treasure, but if you’re looking for the major league, Royal Mansour Casablanca is where you play.
