GUELIZ

DO YOU LIKE CITY LIFE, DO YOU WANT TO FEEL IT BUZZING, DO YOU WANT EVERYTHING WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE THEN GUELIZ SUITS YOU PERFECTLY.

In the same city centre and I really highlight " centre", you will find accommodations from guesthouses over well-loved 3-star hotels up to 1, 5-star hotel.

This vibrant part of town has something to offer for everyone.

Gueliz has developed enormously in the last 15 years.

The last years became the hotspot for the ex-pats who wanted to come to settle in Marrakech.

The beginning of this turnaround was certainly the Marrakech Plaza project that was launched in 2007. This 50 million Euro project also opened the doors of the various international brands that have come to establish themselves in this district.

In recent years we have seen the Hassan II avenue, which dominates the centre of Gueliz, change. The typical 3 storey apartment blocks dating back under the time of the French protectorate have been increasingly replaced by commercial centres, office buildings or hotels. One of the most recent examples is the "Gallery d' Or" or the Caré Eden city mall with the hotel Radisson blue incorporated with its 199 rooms. But also local designers and artists found their way back to Gueliz where they sell and show their latest works in galleries such as the Gandouri gallery. (with its entrance right next to the Grand Atlas café)

For the gourmands, Gueliz is also worth a voyage of discovery.

From traditional to creative to haute cuisine, Gueliz is the place to be for all tastes and budgets.

The latest trendy restaurants can be found in "Rue Moulay Ali".

If you are looking for local food then you have the best grill address at 5 minutes walking distance in "Bejgueni" and if you long for street food then you have a whole selection in the

"Rue Mohammed el Bequal".

But if you are looking for just a lovely terrace with a great history, then you also have one in particular. Located in Guéliz, outside the ramparts of the Medina, Grand café de la Poste was built in the twenties, under the French protectorate. It was both a renowned café and a post office station and had a new start in 2005 after being closed for a few years. Since then, it has been the place to be for a coffee, an aperitif or a tasty snack.
