When you open the article you are once again confronted with the reality that is so different from 2 years ago. The New York times introduces this slightly different list as follows:
52 Places for a Changed World.
The 2022 list highlights places around the globe where travelers can be part of the solution.
What the visitor can contribute by the trip according to the New York Times is each time "as a slogan" neatly inserted at the foot of the relevant article where you have a link to a more detailed text.
For Marrakech you get the following footer "Visiting a fabled city supports efforts to educate and empower women".
As an adopted Marrakchi for almost 15 years this caught me a little off guard and so I started linking to the attached text.
The text refers to a list from the economic forum and cites several initiatives that supports underprivileged women and how you can support this by visiting certain restaurants, stores or resorts.
As I said a just slightly different list to which I would like to add the following note. There are dozens of reasons to visit this beautiful city and after Marrakech was devastated on a tourist level by the Covid- tsunami, every visitor is a godsend for any of us in this traditional solidarity society as was showed once again to the world recently.
Time for a coffee in the bled.
Peter
